Early on Sunday morning, Adriana had to run police baracades, (there was a marathon in progress), to get to our hotel and pick us up, as we had to check-out for 10AM, and brought Deenie and I, and our luggage back to her house, where we then left for the church.

This was the big day - the Baptism of Krystof Kai. Even though he was nervous, he attempted a smile as daddy wheeled him onto the Church grounds.

The minister was on hand to greet Karel and Adriana's friends and relatives.

Our good friend Svetlana managed, against all odds, to show up in time, with her son Sebastian

During the ceremony, Krystof was great, even wanting more Holy water poured over his head! Karel acted as translater for the godfather, which was much appreciated.

After the service, as we left the Church, a lot of people were greeting Karel's mom, thinking she was the Minister's wife. Of course she just played along......

After the ceremony was over we all took a walk through town and through the new Promenade park, (which is amazing), making our way to the restaurant where we would have the Baptismal Lunch. The renovated park has stunning water features that are well worth seeing.

The meal at the restaurant was great - they had arranged the tables in an 'L' shape which let everyone see each other. There was a patio just off this room where the kids could go if they were restless or needed to sleep. After dessert, people presented KK with gifts to mark the occasion.

I wonder what would happen if I stick my fingers in here.....

After settling in, we went back to Adriana's for yet another great meal. Because we'd drank all of Vasek's booze the night before, I got the pleasure of going to the pub with Karel with 2 jugs to fill up with beer. He told me that the trick for cold brew is to fill the jugs with ice water before leaving, then dumping it out at the door of the bar. While waiting we each had a 1.5 litre glass of pilsner. When we got back, the contents of the jug were a perfect temperature.

All in all it was a great day and everyone had a blast. Later on Adriana drove Deenie and I over to the Pension Fontana where we checked in for the rest of our stay.
